Tuesday, May 3rd Solution And Hint

It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad Wordle, folks. Here we are again, spinning on our space rock ball around a space rock ball of fire. The endless orbit.

It’s the very first Tuesday of May, and Spring is in full bloom. My crabapple trees have transformed into breathtaking pink canopies. The days are getting warmer and longer. It’s fire season and time to pray to the rain gods and offer up whatever offerings or sacrifices you think might bring moisture (if not for you, then for those of us down here in the tinderbox we call the Southwest).

While our regions may very humidity-wise, we all share one thing in common: The daily Wordle unites us across time-zones and regions, across cultures and religions. Just one word a day, the same for everyone—one more universal thing to join death and taxes.

Let’s get to today’s word shall we?

Today’s Wordle #318 Answer & Hint (Tuesday, May 3rd)

As always, spoilers follow!

First, a hint:

What do Sweetums and The Boy Who Lived have in common?

And the answer is . . . .

I’m pretty happy I got this in just three. Not that hairy is the hardest word out there, but I’m still a little surprised.

Wordle Bot attributes this entirely to luck, which is why nobody likes the Wordle Bot. While it says my first guess was pretty solid (narrowing the possible number of solutions down from 2,309 to just 68) my second guess—choir—is apparently just dumb luck on my part, and the Wordle Bot dinged me for it.

I call shenanigans! I narrowed down the remaining possible solutions from 68 to just one which, short of actually guessing the word, is pretty darn good if you ask me. Wordle Bot informs me that carol is better than choir 66 percent of the time, but frankly carol wouldn’t have gotten me the h that I then used to get hairy.

So there, Wordle Bot! Take that!

Have a lovely Tuesday, fair Wordlers! See you on the flipside!
